The Washington Post

2019 – 2021

Provide innovative creative ideas while adhering to brand guidelines. Utilize goal-focused, human-centered Visual Design and typography to improve usability, accessibility, innovation, and experience. Collaborate with other designers.

I was approached by a recruiter for The Washington Post and accepted the offer right out of school. I collaborated with a team of four desktop publishers to create and execute visually appealing print advertisements as well as restoring and retouching photos.

Ellempea Designs

2018 – Current

During my junior year at Howard University, I started a freelance design business, Ellempea Designs. I have created brands for multiple clients and designed websites and other digital and print collateral.

Mothership Strategies

Jan. 2019–May 2019

During my last semester at Howard University, I was accepted into the Fellowship Program at Mothership Strategies, a digital advertising agency. I personally developed and designed upwards of 30 graphics a day for various clients while ensuring the content aligned with each client’s unique brand identity. This experience was invaluable in understanding how an advertising agency runs.

From whodunits to layouts, I am always looking for solutions. I am an award-winning designer by day and an avid puzzle-solver by night with a passion for branding, typography, and really good bagels.
